Art From Chaos
This was an idea that I’ve had since 2019 if you can believe it was that long ago when it was registered. In the beginning, Human Revision (Which I’ll shorten to HR for now) was a brand for all the art ideas I had revolving around technology. While marketing is something I’m familiar with, doing it for myself has unique challenges, so that didn’t go very far.
So the intention moving forward is to see if HR can be a community, maybe even one that does some good. If we can swing it, I’d like HR to stand for creativity, weirdness, art, charity, and possibly even be a little punk rock on the way to all that. But mostly, I want it to be interesting. I want to see what kinds of conversations you and me can have around and about art, and what kind of art I make when I open up the creative process to a bunch of crazy people, that is, you.
Art for Causes
With all of that being said, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. I’m putting this art on things. T-shirts and clothing, canvas and posters, wallpapers, avatars, and while it will only be in self defense, probably NFT’s as well. Assuming anyone buys anything, that will generate money, which isn’t the point of this experiment.
In the spirit of the experiment: : Let’s agree that while it’s my art, you’ve had a say in that finished product.
So here’s the deal I will make with you in that spirit: I’ll keep open books so we know what’s what, and half of all the profit Human Revision makes, in any of it’s forms, will go to charity. And in the same way that you’ll have been involved in the creative process, you will also be involved in the donating process for that other half.
If you want to know more about how that’s going to shake out, check the concept page. And if you’ve been chillin in the back and want to be a part of this, there’s the community page.
About Me
Holy shit I really don’t like talking about myself. Oof. Okay, I’m the artist known as Doc, and I’m the cat who had the idea to start this website.
I’ve been an artist professionally for around 20 years, working across multiple mediums. I’ve worked in comics, web comics, fashion, web development, front end design… This goes on for a while, and I think you get it. I do things with crayons.
So look, I started this site and experiment because I’ve done similar things on a smaller scale, and wanted to see if I could make it function scaled up. Also, I needed a reason to start making art again that wasn’t part of the day job. Is it going to work? No clue, like I said earlier I’m just a cat with crayons…
